  • The Machinery sector is an important part of the Engineering Industry. Machinery consists of an assembly of components, at least one of which moves, joined together for a specific application. The drive system of machinery is powered by energy other than human or animal effort.

Machinery Directive

  • The directive covers machinery in addition to interchangeable equipment, safety components, lifting accessories, chains/ropes/webbing, removable mechanical transmission devices, and partly completed machinery.

  • It aims to ensure both the safety of machinery, and its related products. The directive ensures that the potential for machinery to create hazardous situations is minimized or eliminated.
